Things to do in Cyprus

Cyprus is a wonderful island to explore and offers a host of activities, from hiking and mountain biking to scuba-diving and water ski-ing, from sailing and windsurfing to golf and horse riding, from blue flag beaches to ski-ing in the Troodos mountains. There is something for everyone and we have given some basic information here. More details can be found by visiting these useful websites:

Water Sports

Water sports are available all over the island and charges on public beaches are approved by the Central Beach Committees although prices do vary from place to place.

There are pedal boats and banana rides on the blue flag Faros beach 5 minutes walk around the headland from Amy's Place.

Swimming

On every beach red-buoys indicate the swimmers' area, where speed-boats and any other floating craft are not allowed to enter. Swimmers must adhere to Lifeguard's instructions at all times.

LIFEGUARD FLAGS:
GREEN: Excellent swimming conditions
YELLOW: Swim with caution
RED: Very dangerous to swim. DO NOT SWIM!!!

Diving

The crystal clear water of the sea surrounding Cyprus is a colourful world in which to dive. With water temperatures varying from 27 to 16 degrees Celsius, and sunshine almost all year around, Cyprus offers one of the longest diving seasons in the Mediterranean. Organised Sub-Aqua clubs and Diving centres can be found in all towns and resorts, as well as at a number of hotels.
