A visit to one of the water parks is a must if you are holidaying with water loving children! It's great fun and a fantastic way to spend a day. Just remember to take plenty of sun cream and keep applying it through the day!
The three most popular water parks on the island are the Aphrodite Waterpark in Paphos, Fasouri Watermania Waterpark in Limassol, Water World in Agia Napa.
All have special areas and rides for smaller children such as slides, fountains, water guns, and even a slippery octopus to climb. For the bigger children and brave and adventurous adults there are whirlpools, kamikaze slides, wave pools and water chutes plunging down into the darkness! They open daily at 10.00am from May to October. There are height restrictions on some slides.
The Camel Park is on the outskirts of Mazotos village, just 10 minutes drive from Amy's Place. Take a ride on a camel, learn about the camel's life and feed the other animals. The Park is open daily from 8.00hrs to sunset all year round and also has a decent restaurant.

The Troodos National Park is in the centre of the island covering an area of 9337 hectares. The highest point is Chionistra or Olympos (1952 m) and the lowest is Moni forest (700m). The area is fantastic for hiking, skiing, mountain biking and picnics and is a great place to go for some cooler air in the summer heat.
One of the first sights on leaving the airport is the beautiful salt lake, home to colonies of flamingos in the cooler months. Beside the lake is the Hala Sultan Tekesi, built to the memory of Prophet Mohammed's aunt.
In Larnaca itself the old town is alive and bustling with shoppers and is worth a stroll. It has a pedestrian area, Zenon Kitieos, with an ever increasing number of bars and restaurants covering all tastes.
Places to visit include the 17th century church of St.Lazarus with its own Byzantine museum and the medieval museum in the grounds of Larnaca fort on the waterfront.
Larnaca has a long, palm lined promenade and expansive beach as well as a marina where you can admire the boats at their moorings.

We cannot recommend highly enough the benefits of simply wandering around the villages and exploring on foot. This is the best way to discover the local atmosphere and hidden gems of restaurants and shops. You never know what's around the next corner, or when a doorway will open up onto a flower filled courtyard. So, put on some suitable footwear, make sure you wear a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen and carry a bottle of water with you at all times.
This is just a selection of the activities available during your stay in Cyprus. However, you may be quite happy sitting by the pool and enjoying the sunshine. Whatever you choose to do we hope you have a wonderful holiday.
